About the project

Project title: "Development of an integrated dynamic positioning system" Project implementation period: September 3, 2018 - September 3, 2020. Total project value: 1.558.140,62 HRK Amount co-financed by the EU: 778.651,91 HRK

The overall goal of the project is investing in research activities, complete the development and testing of an integrated system for dynamic positioning of the ship while simultaneously strengthening the research and development capacities of the company and increasing its competitiveness.

Project description

The project proposal focuses on the completion of the technical development of an integrated ship system for dynamic positioning, which facilitates the maneuvering and maneuvering of the boat as well as its retention at the same, pre-determined, position without anchoring. Dynamic positioning of the ship is a computer controlled system for the automatic maintenance of the ship's position with the help of its own propulsion system.

Dynamic positioning system is of great interest to numerous shipowners, as it allows ships to be more manageable and less energy consumption, and is independent of the depth of the sea.

The project is fully coordinated and implemented by Alfa Marine doo, founded in 2010 with its headquarters in Rijeka, specialized in installation, commissioning and maintenance of a propulsion system.

Key project activities include:

  • Experimental Development Phase I: Completion of module development, validation of SDP unit functionality through testing on ship simulator and elaboration of strategy for protection of intellectual property
  • Experimental Development Phase II: Designing Prototype and System Demonstrations on board in function

  • Project management and administration activities
